Admission Requirements and Procedure
Campion College Australia is registered and accredited as a higher education
institution by the NSW government in accordance with the legislation.
Our first intake of students commenced in February 2006. Admission
is open to all qualified students of any race, colour, sex, national
origin, or disability. While its program and cultural life are clearly
Catholic, no one will be excluded on the basis of religion.
Applications are made directly to the College, and not through the admission
centres operating in various states. Interested students may apply
as early as the second semester of Year 11. Tuition fees $1500 per
4 credit point subject ($12,000 per year for full-time students). Campion has been approved to offer FEE HELP, the Australian government scheme which allows you to defer your fees through a student loan. This is repayable under the tax system once you are earning approximately $38,000 per year. (See section on fees.)
Admission is determined by a combination of factors, including
Year 12 grades, essays, letters of reference and personal interview. The
College's philosophy is that a broad assessment of a student's ability
and aptitude is desirable. A key criterion will be the applicant's demonstrated
eagerness to learn and to enter fully into the life of the College, making
the most of the educational and religious opportunities offered.
Applicants will be expected to show academic promise on the basis of
previous educational performance, particularly in those areas of study
relevant to the Liberal Arts, such as English, history, religious studies,
foreign languages, mathematics and science - as indicated in Campion's Full
Time Program.
At the same time, consideration will be given to applicants whose secondary
curriculum does not reflect this pattern but who are able to demonstrate
a capacity for intellectual work at a tertiary level.
A UAI of 70.00 is the current minimum entry mark, reflecting
the level necessary to handle the scope and standard of study at the
College.
Students from a home-schooled background are welcome to apply, and should
be able to cite evidence of participation in an approved home-school program.
Enquiries are most welcome at any time. (Click
here to request further information ).
Prospective students and their parents and friends are invited to make
an appointment to visit the campus at Toongabbie ( Request
to Visit ). Such a visit will provide the opportunity of meeting staff
to discuss the programs and facilities being developed at Campion College
Australia.
