Mass at Campion
The form of the Mass usually celebrated at Campion College is the Ordinary Form of the Mass as appointed in the Roman Missal promulgated by Popes Paul VI and John Paul II since the Second Vatican Council. This form of the Mass is celebrated on every day of the week except Wednesdays. If a Holy Day of Obligation falls on a Wednesday the Ordinary Form of the Mass is used.
Following a request from a majority of the students at Campion College, and in line with the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum (2007) of Pope Benedict XVI, Mass in the Extraordinary Form according to the Missal of Blessed Pope John XXIII is celebrated on Wednesdays.
In this way students are exposed to all of the possibilities of the Roman Mass in both forms, but the Ordinary Form of the Mass remains normative at Campion College.
