Campion Foundation - Giving to Campion
WELCOME TO THE CAMPION FOUNDATION
The Campion Foundation is a private non-profit organisation which supports
Campion College with a program of fund-raising and administration of gifts. The Foundation
works closely with the College in building up a solid financial base for Campion and directing gifts
to the College’s most important needs.
Campion College does not rely on government funds. Seeking
to safeguard its identity as an authentically Catholic institution of higher learning, it relies
instead on the generosity of those who believe that a spirit of sacrifice will make possible a truly distinctive college
in Australia in the first century of a new millennium.
Gifts to Campion enable the College to meet a range of vital needs - including the provision of scholarships to needy students, covering not only tuition fees but also residential costs for country or out-of-state students; the continuing improvement of key facilities on campus, such as lecture halls and seminar rooms; and the acquisition of new resources for teaching and research, such as library books and access to scholarly computing networks.
The Foundation produces a quarterly newsletter, Campion’s Brag,
which provides up-to-date information on the development of the College. It has a distribution
list of over 10,000. Since 2002, Campion’s Brag has generated significant financial support for
the College, both for its development prior to opening in 2006 and for its ongoing operation, amounting to
more than $4 million.
Gifts to the Foundation are fully tax-deductible.
The Foundation is one of two bodies, separate though complementary, involved
in the development of the College:
- The Campion Foundation carried out the initial planning of
the College, and provides financial support on a continuing basis; and
- The
Campion Institute is responsible for the governance of the College,
especially in matters of institutional policy, direction and
standards.
Government accreditation requires that these functions be kept distinct
and that the Boards of the Foundation and the Institute operate separately.
