Leaving a Bequest
A vital way in which the future of Campion College will be secured is
by the gift of a bequest.
Australian Catholics have a long tradition of supporting the development
of Catholic institutions – churches, schools, hospitals, seminaries,
and so on. In a new millennium, the need is great to carry on this tradition
for future generations.
The Catholic people cherish a transcendent faith that turns our eyes
to eternity. It sharpens our sense of communion with those who have gone
before and those who will come after.
It is fitting that this combined spirit – of both material and
spiritual continuity – seeks expression in acts of permanent thanksgiving.
Our prayers are the primary acts of our being, but we also show thanksgiving
by the thoughtful disposition of any material goods gathered whilst on
earth.
We may be especially conscious of our children’s or grandchildren’s
future, and one way of fostering the faith of generations to come is through
support, in spiritual and material terms, of Campion College Australia.
Ways of Helping
There are a number of ways in which the College can be helped through
a bequest to the Campion Foundation. For example:
- You can give a specific amount of money or an item such as shares,
property, paintings, jewellery, your car, or other items of value.
- You can donate a percentage of your Estate – for example,
50%, 20%, 10%. This ensures your family and friends are not disadvantaged
by
changes in the size of your Estate or by inflation.
- After providing for family and friends, you may decide to leave the
residue of your Estate to the Foundation for the development of Campion
College.
To ensure that your exact intentions are made clear, it is desirable
that your Will be prepared in consultation with a solicitor.
Bequests to the Campion Foundation are tax-exempt.
Opportunities for Giving
A bequest to Campion may express a particular wish as to how the gift
is to be used, such as:
- To acquire books and resources for the Library
- To establish scholarships for deserving Campion students
- To support teaching or research in a particular discipline at the
College (such as history, literature, philosophy or theology)
- To contribute to the physical development of the campus (for example,
a new chapel or student residence)
