What do our students think of Campion College?

'I was initially attracted to Campion College because of the subjects studied in the course. When I first came to the College I expected to merely improve the knowledge I already had. I found, to my surprise, that my knowledge and understanding of the world I live, was severely impoverished. After two years, I have found that we are only skimming the surface. The four disciplines, Literature, Philosophy, History and particularly Theology, have deconstructed my secular understanding of the world and nourished it with a combination of faith and reason. I do not know how my contemporaries can go through life without the deeper understanding of the world around them which these four disciplines provide. I have found Campion College an Oasis in the desert.'

- Elanor Hitchings, Second Year

'Campion is giving me a first class liberal arts degree, a rich experience in community living, and above all a much deeper and more profound appreciation of what it means to be a Catholic. It is very exciting and encouraging to see how much I have learnt over the past two years at Campion. I know that am really being educated. This place is great!'

- Madeleine Meese, Second Year

'This year has not been without its challenges; but for all that’s come my way, our way, it is a student community. The fruits of our labours have been worth the effort and challenge.'

- Nikolai Martinovic, Second Year

'What has been really great is that I am not just another face in the crowd. The lecturers know me on a personal level and care about my success. This really makes a massive difference.'

- Kieren Jackson, Second Year

'I first asked, “Why are there so many interstate (and international) students here? How has Campion’s reputation reached New Zealand and the Amish-like Walwa? Campion, in my experience, has lived up to and beyond expectations in its academic excellence, its comfortable environment for any student and in its unusual ability to show how a Catholic Uni can be a Liberal Arts College, without being too ‘Liberal’. What other College has such readily available staff, free parking and the tolerance for Pat Long’s awful jokes? See you next year.'

- Pat Long, First Year, Walwa (near Corryong, near Wodonga, on the Murray in Victoria)

'In my first year at Campion I have been blessed in countless ways. While the Liberal Arts education has challenged me intellectually, the experience of being at Campion has also helped form me socially and spiritually. I have met, been taught by, and learned with some of the most genuine and interesting people I have ever encountered in my life. There is nothing but gratitude in my heart for the way Providence has led me to this place which forms the whole person, and thus paves a sure path to holiness.'

- Ivy Del Rosario, First Year

'This year has been filled with some of the hardest challenges I have encountered, and also some of the greatest joys. I know that I have grown in confidence and wisdom, but most importantly I have formed life long friendships and developed a deeper relationship with God. It is a year I will fondly remember.'

- Laura Meli, First Year

'This has been my first year at Campion. It was a year that taught me many things about College life, but especially in the area of academia. The lecturers have been awesome in the help they have given me with assessments, and I made many friendships that I’m sure will last. Campion is definitely the place to be.'
