Why Choose Campion?
Campion has high ideals. Studying at Campion will allow you to
enter into a world of literature, history, philosophy and theology,
in an atmosphere where the broader issues of today’s world
can be openly discussed and commented on. Other sections of this site will explain the career advantages of a Liberal Arts education, but Campion is proud of its ability to teach and to teach well.
Unlike the usual lectures of 700 students in their at first year university, Campion
has small class sizes and interaction with lecturers is
one of Campion’s pre-eminent strengths. Our teaching staff
are outstanding scholars and teachers. They have all come to us from the larger universities in Australia and internationally.
Their teaching will be as follows:
- reading and digesting the recommended course material before
moving on to the next unit of study.
- assimilating the course material (covering both primary
and secondary sources via note-taking, précis and paraphrase),
by comparison with the more passive reception of tertiary material
via lectures summarizing primary and secondary sources.
- achieving greater intellectual stimulation by being engaged
in a close relationship with lecturers and the course material.
- monitoring academic progress on a continuous basis, and
highlighting problems at an early stage.
Campion cares about you and your progress through its courses.
Campion also cares about parents and the role they play in advising and encouraging their sons and daughters to take on tertiary education. Information for parents is available by clicking here.
