Dr Gerard O’Shea

Dr Gerard O’Shea is Assistant Director of Catholic Education (Mission and Religious Education) for the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes, Australia. He has previously worked as professor of Religious Education for the University of Notre Dame, and as senior lecturer in Religious Education and Family Ministry at the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and Family. Gerard has worked in Catholic education for over forty years as a teacher, religious education coordinator, curriculum coordinator and principal. He has written numerous articles and books on religious education and parenting, the most recent of which was published in 2018 (Educating in Christ). He and his wife, Anne, served a five year term as president couple of the National Association of Catholic Families. They have five adult children and ten grandchildren.
