Summer Program 2019

From 7-11 January, 30 high school students and young adults came to Campion for a week of fun and games, dancing, trivia, sport, movie nights and excursions, sprinkled with a good dose of the college’s liberal arts degree.

Most students were aged 17-19, fresh from their last or second-last year of high school. Over the Summer Program, the group formed close bonds while living on campus, sharing meals and attending lectures and film nights conducted by Campion’s lecturers. They explored theological and philosophical elements in the thriller A Quiet Place, looked at the influence of Darwinism and examined the death of Sherlock Holmes, among other topics.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with several students now looking at studying at Campion this year. The only real downside came out as the number one complaint: the Summer Program wasn’t long enough!
