The 2024 Australian Chesterton Conference, hosted at Campion College, will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, including internationally renowned expert Dale Ahlquist, President of the Chesterton Society in America. The conference, which marks the 150th anniversary of G.K. Chesterton’s birth, will take place on Saturday, 2nd November 2024.

Themed “The Rebirth of Chesterton – Insight and Foresight,” this year’s event will explore the global revival of interest in Chesterton’s works and ideas. Ahlquist will report on the rapid expansion of Chesterton Schools in the United States, which now number more than 70. These schools, inspired by Ahlquist’s co-founding of the first Chesterton School in 2007, offer a Catholic liberal arts education to young students, following Chesterton’s vision of a holistic, human-centered approach to learning.

In addition to Ahlquist, other prominent speakers will include:

  • Dr. Stephen McInerney, Dean of Studies at Campion College, who will discuss the groundbreaking educational approach of John Senior and his integrated humanities program.
  • Garrick Small, a property economist, who will address the alliance between big government and big business in the modern world.
  • Karl Schmude, President of the Australian Chesterton Society, who will examine the prophetic insights of Chesterton in areas such as human reason, economic organization, and sexual freedom.

The conference promises to be a highlight for Chesterton enthusiasts and those interested in his lasting legacy. For more information and to register for the event, visit the Australian Chesterton Society website.
