Our Newest Students: Matriculation 2016
Campion’s annual Matriculation Ceremony took place this year on Monday, February 29. A group of enthusiastic students was matriculated into its Campion academic career on what was a beautiful, sunny morning. The ceremony commenced with the opening of the year Mass followed by students receiving their academic gowns and signing their names into the Matriculation Registry. This signified the students entering into a scholarly community and formally commencing their studies in higher education. The new cohort includes enrolments for both the Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts and the Diploma of Liberal Arts – Foundations of the Western Tradition. This year, there is one international student from Canada as well as students from cities and regional areas all over Australia. Campion President Dr Paul Morrissey officiated the ceremony and family and friends of our new first year students made a very supportive showing. After the ceremony, Nick Augemeri, president of the Campion College Student Association, spoke to parents and friends about the Campion program and a BBQ lunch was shared by all. Although they have only been with us a short time one cannot help but be impressed by the enthusiasm and intellectual thirst of the first year students. We wish the newly enrolled class of 2016 all the very best in their studies of the Liberal Arts.
