Campion launches new video series ‘Theology Thursdays’

Campion College has launched the first episode of a new video series called Theology Thursdays.

Each week, Campion President Dr Paul Morrissey will discuss an important or interesting issue of theology in a short, easily-digestible video discussion.

The first episode, launched today on Holy Thursday, looks at the Catholic theology surrounding the Feast of Easter in light of the current pandemic crisis.

Episode 1

Episode 1 dives into the Feast of Easter in light of the Coronavirus pandemic crisis, during which most of us are forced to celebrate at home. Dr Morrissey gives some insight into the theology behind the Church's greatest feast day.

 

Episode 2

Episode 2 continues the Easter theme, looking at bodily resurrection, specifically the four qualities of a resurrected body, according to St Thomas Aquinas.

 

Episode 3

How should we read the Bible? How do we interpret it? Where do we even start? Dr Paul Morrissey gives a brief summary of the Catholic theology regarding interpretation of Scripture in the third episode of Theology Thursdays.

 

Episode 4

Campion president Dr Paul Morrissey takes a dive into the meaning of the Feast of Pentecost.

 

Episode 5

In Episode 5, Dr Morrissey continues the discussion about who Jesus is by exploring the New Testament.

 

Episode 6

Dr Morrissey wraps up the three-part discussion about who Jesus is in Episode 06 by looking at three Christological truths

 

Episode 7

This week's episode focuses on the Catholic view of the human person, looking at original sin, the 'Imago Dei' and the concept of freedom.

Freedom is a word that gets thrown around quite a bit but what is it? What does it actually mean to be free? Dr Paul Morrissey gives a summary of the Christian explanation of freedom.

 

Episode 10

This week Dr Morrissey dives into the four Cardinal Virtues, beginning with the first two: wisdom and justice, relating these to the Christian concept of freedom.

 

Episode 11

This week Dr Morrissey continues his discussion of the Cardinal Virtues, this time covering temperance and fortitude, before relating the Cardinal Virtues to the three Theological Virtues.

 

Episode 12

Dr Morrissey wraps up his discussion of the virtues by exploring the three Theological Virtues in greater detail.
