Campion’s biggest ever Winter Program is a BIG success
Campion College has recently concluded its highly successful 2023 Winter Program, which marked the college's biggest-ever program in terms of participant numbers. With an impressive turnout of 76 participants, the program attracted students from five different Australian states, as well as two enthusiastic attendees from New Zealand.
From 4-7 July, participants were treated to an extensive lineup of engaging lectures and social activities, all designed to provide a firsthand experience of what it's like to be a liberal arts undergrad at Campion College. Following icebreaker activities and a trivia night on Day 1, participants launched into a series of academic sessions covering the key disciplines of study at Campion - history, literature, philosophy, theology and classical languages. These sessions were broken up with fun social activities designed to mirror community life at Campion and included bush walking, casual sports, swing dancing, movie night and a bonfire.
One of the highlights of the Winter Program and a new feature in this year's schedule was the inclusion of an alumni professionals panel during our mock Formal Hall. Participants were treated to an exclusive Q&A with three Campion College alumni - Daniel Kolechi (Class of 2013), Anna Harrison (Class of 2019) and Criostoir McCaughan (Class of 2020) - on their post-Campion experiences in the fields of education, marketing, youth ministry and media. It was especially wonderful to hear of the unique pathways taken by these graduates and the impact of their liberal arts education in their day-to-day lives, and we thank these alumni for graciously volunteering their time to be with us during Winter Program.
A special thanks is also extended to the academic and professional staff who made the past week possible, as well as our student leaders - Grace, Julian, Evana, Clare, Aimee, Bethany, Roch, Andrew, Molly and Mary - for their energy and enthusiasm during the week.
We look forward to welcoming our program participants back on campus soon, either as students in the coming semesters or at future programs and events.
