Graduation: Celebrating Our Class of 2015

01 Mar 2016

In December 2015, Campion celebrated its most recent Graduation and said farewell to a group of wonderful students who will be missed greatly. The below excerpt is from a Christmas newsletter from Campion President, Dr Paul Morrissey:

‘Thank you for your support throughout 2015, a busy and fruitful year. The academic year culminated last week with Graduation, which was a tremendous celebration; although tinged with sadness as we said goodbye to the class of 2015. The ceremony was preceded by the Graduation Mass with the Very Rev Fr Peter Williams, the administrator of the diocese of Parramatta as chief celebrant. His homily was a powerful reflection on beauty, truth and the importance of an education that fosters a sense of wonder. The Mass itself was a witness to the Church’s beauty in music with the Campion Schola, superbly led by Bernard Kirkpatrick. The occasional speaker at graduation was well known journalist, Miranda Devine. Her speech challenged the class of 2015 to be participators in the great struggle that our culture is engaged, especially in the attempts of many of our elites to relativise truth claims. Our valedictorian, Sam Rebbechi, with great humour and some emotion, spoke on behalf of the graduating class of the tremendous debt of gratitude they owed the College, especially to the faculty’.

Thank you to family and friends of the Campion community for celebrating this special day with us.
