Recognising outstanding Year 11 students with a passion for the humanities
The Campion College Humanities Award celebrates academic excellence in the humanities and encourages students to see the rich value and potential of further study in these fields. Through this award, schools can formally acknowledge a high-achieving Year 11 student while offering them a pathway to university-level humanities experiences and opportunities.
2025 Award Cycle
The opt-in window for the 2025 Campion College Humanities Award is now closed.
Thank you to all schools that registered. Campion College is now working with participating schools as they prepare to nominate their award recipients. Awards will be delivered in Term 4, with the option for a Campion staff member to attend and present in person where possible.
If your school did not register in time, you are welcome to submit an expression of interest for 2026.
The Humanities Award at a Glance
Participating schools benefit from:
- A targeted information session for Year 11 students, delivered during Term 3. This session introduces students to the breadth and depth of the humanities, their real-world applications, and the career opportunities available to humanities graduates. It also covers post-HSC pathways, including the Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts at Campion College.
- The opportunity to nominate one exemplary Year 11 student who has demonstrated academic excellence and a strong interest in the humanities.
- Formal recognition of that student’s achievement through a certificate, book voucher, and access to additional enrichment opportunities.
Recognition & Benefits for Award Recipients
Each awardee will receive:
A formal certificate and $70 book gift voucher, presented in recognition of their academic achievement
A reserved place in an upcoming Campion College Summer or Winter Program, an engaging introduction to university-level study in the humanities
A scholarship toward the Bachelor of Arts in the Liberal Arts at Campion College, subject to application and acceptance terms
Nomination Criteria
The nominated student should meet the following:
Enrolled in a minimum of six Preliminary units across any of the following subjects: English Advanced, Extension English I, Ancient History, Modern History, Society and Culture, Studies of Religion, Catholic Studies, Classical Greek, Latin and Legal Studies
Has achieved Band 5 or 6 results in their Year 11 (Preliminary) humanities subjects
Demonstrates a desire to pursue further learning in the humanities in the HSC and beyond, and actively engages with extracurricular materials and activities
Where multiple students meet the above criteria, you may wish to choose a student who also displays:
- Engagement in historical and ethical inquiry
- Strong critical and analytical thinking demonstrated through research, debates or competitions
- Leadership and contributions to the humanities within the school community

Schools confirm and submit their award recipient based on Year 11 results

Awards are dispatched for presentation; optional in-person presentation by a Campion College staff member
