Students and staff gather for first Formal Hall of 2023

On Thursday the 23rd of March, students and staff gathered for the first Formal Hall of 2023.

Campion president, Dr Paul Morrissey, offered a special welcome to our commencing undergrads before speaking on the history of formal hall and the role of banquets and meals in both salvation history and family tradition.

"Many of you will be familiar with the tradition of the family meal, which in years past would take place on a Sunday when shops and cinemas were closed and there were no sporting games to attend," he said.

"While you are students at Campion, we hope you will think of Formal Hall like a family meal at Campion because you are not just students studying a degree... you are part of an academic community."

Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of certificates for students on the Dean's Merit List for Semester 2 2022. We commend all these students on their dedication to their studies and offer a special congratulations to the four students who achieved a high distinction average.
