Theatre Society back bigger and better this year

06 Apr 2021

I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.
Oscar Wilde

The Campion Theatre Society is back with a bigger group and bigger plans for this year!

After a restricted calendar of events in 2020 due to COVID, Theatre Society members are throwing all they can into producing the most engaging and exciting productions possible in 2021.

Membership has swelled since the start of this year, making this group one of the largest in the five years the society has been running, not to mention enthusiastic and bursting with creativity! There has been a resurgence of members from the second-year cohort and a steady participation from the third years as well as a bunch of up-and-coming members from first-year students.

Vocal practice and listening skills are being developed through theatre sports and there have been plenty of surprises during practice routines and script reading, with many students displaying their hidden talents and natural gifts as thespians.

Skit Groups have been formed and they have begun constructing stories across a wide range of genres, including comedy, tragedy, romance, action, and drama, to a theme which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The Skit Night will take place near the end of the first semester. Keep an eye on our social media accounts for updates on this, and other announcements throughout the year.
