Do the Dead rule the world? Affirmative wins third debate
The third round of Campion's internal debating competition saw the affirmative team take victory for the first time.
The topic for debate was That the Dead Rule the World. This round was held between the Ryder-Cheshire Girls' House team, St John Chrysostom, arguing affirmative, with the off-campus boys' house team, St Jude, on negative.
Adjudicator Dr Amitavo Islam gave the debate to the girls' team, St John Chrysostom, saying the the boys' team became too caught up in semantics and made a less compelling case overall.
The next debate - that the contemplative life is superior to the active one - will take place on Thursday.
