Campion College is delighted to welcome Judge Amul Thapar and Judge Andrew Oldham for a special evening of conversation and reflection.

Judges Thapar and Oldham serve on two of the United States Courts of Appeals and are among the leading jurists of their generation. Drawing on distinguished careers in public service, legal practice and the federal judiciary, they will share insights from their experience and reflect on questions of law, public life and the role of the judiciary.

Whether you have a background in law or simply an interest in politics, philosophy or public affairs, this promises to be a thought-provoking evening with two internationally respected legal scholars and judges.

Biographies

Judge Amul Thapar Headshot

Judge Amul Thapar

Judge Amul R. Thapar serves on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, having previously served as a judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Before joining the federal bench, he served as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky and held senior roles within the Department of Justice. He has also worked in private practice and as a federal law clerk.

Judge Andrew Oldham Headshot

Judge Andrew Oldham

Judge Andrew Oldham serves on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Before his appointment to the bench, he served as General Counsel to the Governor of Texas and as Deputy Solicitor General of Texas, representing the state before federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. Earlier in his career, he clerked for Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. of the United States Supreme Court and practised appellate litigation in Washington, D.C.
