Intelligence vs Emotion? Negative team victorious in second debate
The second round of Campion's internal debating competition took place on Thursday.
The topic for debate was That Intelligence is a greater Human Asset than Emotion. Arguing for the affirmative was the AW Girls' House team, St John Chrysostom, with the Boys' Dorms team, St Jude, on negative.
The affirmative team argued that intelligence, in comparison to emotion, was a more useful, and thus greater, human asset, while the negative team argued that both assets were equal.
Adjudicator Dr Jeremy Bell said this was another difficult debate to decide, but ultimately named the negative side the winning team.
The next debate (topic to be announced) will take place on Thursday, 20 May.
