Matriculation Ceremony Welcomes Campion College’s Newest Students

Campion College proudly welcomed its newest students today in the annual Matriculation Ceremony, a significant tradition that marks the beginning of their academic journey. Held in the presence of family, friends, faculty and staff, the ceremony signified the students’ formal entry into the academic and communal life of the college.
The day commenced with the celebration of Mass, a reminder of the intrinsic connection between faith and scholarship at Campion College. In his homily, Fr Peter Kruk OP urged students to embrace the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty, remarking, “We hope that you will fall in love with what is true, good, and beautiful. That you will follow in the footsteps of wisdom, to know it more and to treasure it more.” He encouraged students to cultivate both prayer and study as complementary paths to knowledge, stating, “Faith and wisdom, they work together. So we need both wisdom and faith to navigate through life successfully.”
The ceremony continued with the formal donning of academic robes, a moment rich in symbolism as students became part of the Campion College academic community. College President Dr Paul Morrissey warmly welcomed the incoming students, calling their journey ahead “the great adventure that is higher learning, an adventure of the mind.” He highlighted the three foundational pillars of Campion College: its Catholic identity, its academic mission, and its strong sense of community. He also reminded students that education at Campion College extends beyond the classroom, urging them to fully engage in the life of the college.
The Matriculation Ceremony stands as a cherished milestone in the life of every Campion College student, and today’s event was a testament to the strength of the college’s traditions and mission. It was a joy to witness so many proud families and friends in attendance, celebrating this momentous occasion with our newest scholars.
Congratulations to our matriculating students—may your time at Campion College be one of intellectual and spiritual growth as you embark on this noble pursuit of wisdom.
