Students undertake training to become catechists in Sydney schools

30 Mar 2021

Campion students were trained to be Special Religious Education catechists in Sydney public schools on Saturday.  Led by Vincent Haber from the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD), the training covered the role of the SRE catechist, safeguarding, classroom management and using the curriculum.

One of the participants reflects: “The training was very in-depth and covered all the technicalities and situations we might find in the classroom. Our instructor Vincent was beaming with enthusiasm and we all had a great day.”

Being a catechist is just one of the many ways our students give back to the community. It is also a fantastic opportunity for those seeking to gain classroom experience and engage in evangelisation.
