A Night of Legacy and Laughter at 2025 Réveillon
Campion College marked the close of the academic year with its annual Réveillon Dinner on Thursday 20 November, gathering students, staff, and guests for an evening celebrating community, leadership, and the achievements of 2025.
The night included the presentation of several awards, with Paul Kennedy announcing the Frank Sheed Prizes and Bernard Kirkpatrick presenting the Schola Awards, alongside the Noreen Mavis Daley Poetry Prize, the Fr Julian Carron Prize, The Lord is Our Shepherd Prizes, the Tom Cooper Prize, the Ted O’Halloran Latin Prize, and the Dean’s List certificates for Semester 1 2025.
Some of the most memorable moments came from the CCSA speeches, beginning with incoming 2026 President Caleb Smith’s reflections on the legacy of recent student leaders. In acknowledging the 2024 executive, he recalled Mary’s trademark energy, adding that “it’s hard to think of a single person at Campion who has given as much to college life as you have” . He also paid tribute to the 2025 team, praising Mathias as “a man of principles,” Edith as “hardworking, creative, and an absolute joy to be around,” and Jerome as “a natural born leader… [who] inspires confidence like no one else”.
Outgoing President Jerome Lawrence followed with a reflection on a year defined by unity and an increasingly vibrant student culture. He spoke warmly of the flourishing student community and offered a heartfelt thanks to those who supported countless student-led initiatives, reserving particular gratitude for Reshan, whom he described as “literally our lifeline throughout the whole year… a rock”.
The evening closed with the traditional Third-Year Talk, delivered by Michael Nunes and Audrey Power, who offered a humorous and affectionate tribute to the graduating class. Their speech blended light-hearted reflection with warm personal anecdotes, celebrating the quirks, achievements, and friendships that defined their cohort’s time at Campion College. Their good-natured portrait of each classmate provided a joyful and fitting conclusion to the night, and a fitting farewell as the graduating class prepares to embark on its next chapter.
