Students foster active listening in R U OK workshop

11 Mar 2021

On Wednesday the 10th of March, resident counselor Scott Carrol and Campion College Student Association President Campbell Evans ran a lunchtime workshop equipping students with the processes and language of "active listening".

"Australians have a tendency to remain uneducated when it comes to mental health processes!" said Campbell.

"This becomes explicit in our culture of asking 'How you goin' mate' with no intention of actually hearing the answer!"

In the workshop, Scott and Campbell demonstrated and taught students tools which will allow them to express their care for their friends in a healthy and sustainable way. See below for photos from the event by second-year student Abigail Pereira.

Lunchtime events and workshops encouraging students to foster personal development and positive habits are a regular feature at Campion College. We encourage all students to get in touch with our Student Life Officer if you have any ideas about an activity or event you think would be of benefit to the student body.
