Whether you’re discerning your next step or already have a career path in mind, our career planning support is designed to equip you with the skills, experiences and confidence you need to succeed.

 

The Compass Program

The Compass Program is our central career development initiative, created to help you discover your strengths, set purposeful goals, and confidently plan for life after college. The program complements your studies with practical tools and career discernment opportunities, helping you to:

  • Uncover your unique gifts and talents
  • Learn how to apply your liberal arts skills in meaningful ways
  • Receive career guidance from trusted mentors
  • Research job opportunities and postgraduate courses of interest
  • Build professional networks

You will take part in two interactive workshops per semester. See below for workshop titles and additional opportunities.

Additional Support & Opportunities

Alumni Mentoring Program
Connect with graduates who have walked the path before you. Our alumni mentoring program pairs students with alumni across a range of professions, offering valuable advice, encouragement and networking opportunities.

Professional Panels
Throughout the year, we host industry-specific panels featuring professionals and alumni working in education, law, media, public service, business, ministry and more. These sessions offer a chance to hear personal career journeys, ask questions, and explore different options.

Internship Opportunities
Through the Student Life Office, students can access internship placements tailored to their interests. We partner with organisations aligned with the values of a liberal arts education, helping you to gain hands-on experience in fields like publishing, policy, community engagement, education, and more.

Career Expos
All students are encouraged to attend local career expos throughout the year. These events are a great opportunity to meet prospective employers, explore graduate programs, and discover study pathways you may not have considered.
